A Word from the Chair
Message from ULI Seattle Chair
Hal Ferris, Spectrum Development Solutions
I am pleased to welcome you to ULI Seattle. The Urban Land Institute's mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. ULI is an independent, nonprofit education and research institute supported by its members and neither lobbies nor acts as an advocate for any one single industry. ULI Seattle is a district council of the Urban Land Institute covering most of Washington State
ULI Seattle has come a long way in a short time. Our membership has almost tripled over the past four years, and much of that growth can be attributed to quality programming. We have organized more than seventy substantive programs on a variety of topics:
- compact communities (e.g. density, placemaking)
- suburban development
- workforce housing
- real estate finance
- sustainability
- Young Leaders events, including train tours to Vancouver, BC
- Emerging Trends series
In addition to informative events, ULI Seattle has provided input on critical land use issues in our region, from leading the Reality Check regional visioning exercise, to hosting a Technical Assistance Panel for the City of Bellevue on incentive zoning.
Does any of this sound interesting to you? If so, we hope you’ll join us.
